PAULA MANCHESTER - Radio Butlin Announcer

Everyone on Camp during the seasons she did at Butlins knew what Paula SOUNDED like, but didn't
necessarily know what she LOOKED like, as she was one of the mysterious RADIO BUTLIN announcers.
Here, we can correct the balance.

A familiar voice and, now,
a familiar face.

This time around our featured REDCOAT is PAULA MANCHESTER,
whom I had the pleasure of working with at Skegness during the 1973 and 1974 seasons.
Paula had also worked a season at Skegness in 1969, and then later did a couple of weeks at BUTLINS AYR, as a Radio Butlin trainer, but can't remember the exact years. See photos below, and let us know if you can help.

Here are a couple of professional entertainers enjoying an after-show drink. Bottom left is Irish Comedian BILLY STUTT, who was in the Resident Revue at the Gaiety theatre. The taller and better looking Jimmy Carr look-alike is Malcolm Anthony, whose Country & Western Band took over on Val Merrall's night off. (Where is he now??) Plus a rare shot of Ents. Man. But Paula did get to do duties other than in Radio Butlin.

Pretty fantastic, hey? - especially considering she has more than doubled in age.
